About CYB

The spring of 2007 marks the 54th season of CHESHIRE YOUTH BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL. During its first season approximately 200 boys were assigned to play on 14 teams divided equally between major and minor divisions. Games were played at the Humiston School and Legion fields.

Over the last four and one-half decades CYB/S has grown considerably in its scope, depth and appeal. As we head into the year 2007, almost 1200 Cheshire youths on 83 teams in 15 different divisions will be participating! Cheshire Youth Baseball is open to all Cheshire youth with girls as well as boys playing softball and baseball in town. The highly successful girls softball program is part of CYB/S. CYB/S also sponsors, runs and manages the traveling teams, the local American Legion Team, and has supported the Cheshire Challengers Baseball Team. In recent years, our alumni have filled most of the roster spots on the highly successful Cheshire High School Baseball Team. Many of our athletes have gone on to play college baseball and several are currently performing at the highest levels of professional sports.

Cheshire Youth Baseball and Softball is a non-profit organization whose sole mission is to provide organized, instructional, recreational and competitive baseball programs to Cheshire’s youth. It is run entirely by volunteers at the Board of Directors, team manager and coaching levels. League players range from the age of 6 (T-Ball) to 18 (American Legion).

The members of the Board of Directors of Cheshire Youth Baseball and Softball take great pleasure in welcoming you to our 54th season of league play with registration activities beginning in early January.  We wish you, your children and our players every success both on and off the field. We pledge our support as you enter into what we hope is a positive experience; for it is ultimately you, the managers, coaches and parents who will make our program successful and beneficial to Cheshire's youth and Cheshire's future.
