Cheshire
Youth Softball announces the creation of a 14U Division for the coming
Spring Softball Season.
The goals of this expansion are to:
1.
To provide an opportunity for
Girls who have recently exited our Softball program.
2.
To establish the next level of
play for our Girls who will be moving up from our 12U program.
3.
To provide the support, practice
and opportunity to play
“Pony Rules”, which is the broadly accepted “rule
of play” required outside our recreational program.
In order to
remain flexible to the girls/parents, who will solidify
this new division, we recognize that many questions can
only be answered after we know the number, skill levels
and desires of the Girls who register. Possible formats
could be, full recreational play in our CYSB league, out
of CYSB league scrimmages, Local Tournament play and/or
a mix of all. We recognize that the program needs to
reflect what the girls want to play but also that it is
the correct time to move up to Pony Rules. This is
necessary to prepare them for organized play beyond CYSB
in their future softball years and hopefully in a future
CYSB 16U league.
Girls who are
not older than 14 years of age on December 31, 2007 are
eligible for play in the spring 2008 14U Division. The
14U Division is open to all Cheshire Girls; previous
CYSB play is not required
Please talk to
your players/friends and register early which will
provide more time to customize the program to the Girls.
We are looking forward to an exciting new
opportunity for our Girls.
Softball Summer Ball
Softball Summer Ball will be pick-up style, like that of Baseball, to take place
on Thursday nights, starting at 5:30pm. Fields yet to be determined. Age groups will be 8-10 years and 11-14 years of age. Craig Odermatt will head the 8-10's and Randy Bourdeau the 11-14's. As long as the player was a spring registrant, there should be no fee for this program. Non-spring registrants should pay $25.00 to participate, covering insurance costs. This is a "come when you can" program with little to no cost involved. |
